CARRO ARMATO P 40 (1:35) - 6599
Plastic model kit. Size: 1:35; 16,5 cm. Difficulty: 4.
The early years of World War II demonstrated the inadequacy of Italian medium tanks for use in modern warfare, which was characterized by engagements between heavily armed and heavily armored tanks, as well as the use of more effective and deadly anti-tank weapons. Based on a detailed analysis of German and enemy British and Soviet military vehicles, a heavy, 26-ton tank was created. This new machine, which underwent several design changes over time, was given more modern features such as sloping front panels, a more powerful 420 horsepower diesel engine, and a more suitable main gun, the Ansaldo 75/34 cannon. The P26/40, as the new machine was forever known, unfortunately retained some of the outdated features that had characterized Italian armoured vehicle production since the mid-1930s, namely the riveted armour plates and the leaf spring suspension system.
